Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are resilient! They began this school year with open arms and open minds! Having never been in a classroom setting before due to Covid-19 they are showing up all day eager to learn.
I would like to provide all of my students with books in the library that have characters that resemble them and their cultures so that they can share the connections that they have to those books to our class or have the opportunity to bring the book home and have a family member tell how they can connect with the story.
My Project
The books that I am asking for will fill my library with diversity and introduce them to characters that they will be able to connect with and that they will be able to bring home and read allowing family members explain how those characters may be relatable to them as well.
The games will help them to reinforce the lessons that we are learning in our class.
Games are a great, low stress way to help the students develop social skills that they might not have had the chance to work on when our schools were only being offered virtually.
All of these items will have a profound impact on all of the scholars in my classroom.
