My Students

I tell my students that the skills and technique learned during concert season is what sets a musician apart from the rest.

My students use music as a tool for a better life.

In the city where we live, music scholarships are what help a lot of students get a chance to go to college so, of course, the most skillful and musically technical students are highly regarded and are as popular as student athletes. Our school has always been known as a hub for both academics AND music, with one of our alumni being the Drum Major for the United States Marines Drum and Bugle Corps!

My Project

My students need 10 trumpets mutes for our concert band season. I need the chair for teaching and directing. We are now in concert season and some of the music requires the use of a trumpet mute to create the perfect sound needed for particular pieces. Also, I need the drafting chair to be able to teach and direct the students and conduct the band during class, concerts, and performances.

Having mutes for the trumpets will show the students how different musical pieces require different sounds.

It will broaden their musical abilities by showing varying ways to use their horn and how to create different sounds to give the music more color.
