Help me give my students a porcelain magnetic white markboard to allow them to work together on projects, write or draw ideas on a larger space, and a learning tool when technology is not working.
Technology in my classroom is awesome until it stops working. Just the other day my students couldn't get on their Chromebooks because the internet was down. I had no way to teach them place value in math because I didn't have anything to write on. This US Markerboard would make a difference not only when technology isn't working, but by allowing my students to work together on projects, write or draw ideas, financial literacy lessons, and help with student engagement.
Students can't do this on a Smartboard!
We have a SmartBoard, but students can't collaborate by writing at the same time on it. So, this US Markerboard would make a difference with my students' mental health! Right now my students are sad because they can't have math races on our Smartboard (apparently they did this in first grade and loved it). If we had this US Markerboard, my students could have math races, would be excited, and forget about their problems!
This US Markerboard was chosen because this brand is what first grade teachers have, so my students will be familiar with it. My students could use it to practice their spelling words, keep score on learning games, and there will always be a visual of goals they will learn that day. All of these are goals that would make a difference in my students' learning.
