This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The Technology Design Lab was created a few years ago to make sure that all the students in our school are not only able to effectively use technology, but so that they can use that technology for good. We ask our students to use their technology skills to lead in their community. We ask them to look for ways to support not only their fellow students but those who live in our town.
Students have successfully created a farmer's market, weekly news program, and even met with the Mayor to request additional street lights near our school.
Today, every student on our campus can see the result of this leadership in action, when the three new street lights click on each evening.
My Project
My time at the annual International Society for Technology Education will allow me to develop my craft, and thus empower me to continue to help my students develop their skills. ISTE 19 will introduce me to the greatest minds in technology education. My exposure to the tools, ideas, and projects at ISTE 19 will directly impact my classroom.
Past attendance to this conference has lead to changes in both my teaching technique and content.
My students have learned skills to create, build, and imagine as a direct result of this conference. ISTE 19 is a gathering of strong educators and a fantastic way for me to further develop my craft.
