When Social Skills Are Like a Foreign Language

My Project

I work with a variety of students, both in ages and in needs. My students all require additional support for them to succeed in school. They have to try things appropriately 200 times for it to stick in their brain. They are capable of learning, but it takes a variety of different materials and hard work for them retain the information.

When language is as difficult to understand as algebra, learning adequate social skills is a challenge.

My students need to be presented with multiple opportunities to practice talking to others, asking them to play, and then taking turns during the play session. Having fun and exciting materials will help create a welcoming environment for the students and their friends.

For 23 years I have worked with the students with the greatest needs. I have learned to love them more everyday and I want to give them every opportunity out there to help promote their learning. Thank you for helping me to provide what it takes to help them!
