My Students

My students are in a selective enrollment school in an urban area meaning they applied and were accepted to our school. Despite being a selective enrollment school, we still have a population with over eighty percent low income and minority students.

They like to discover patterns, make connections, help their classmates, and solve problems!

Many of my wonderful students have overcome significant obstacles to get where they are today. My students are inquisitive, easy to work with, passionate, and motivated. They like to be challenged.

My Project

Please help our school get the embroidery materials to teach students how to embroider! Embroidery and learning a new craft or hobby is a great way to flex those brain muscles and express yourself while improving overall mental well-being and relieving stress and anxiety.

Our project goals include customizing clothing items like our school spirit gear and one large collaborative project each student will contribute to.

Especially after having a year of remote learning, giving this opportunity to students will help them cope with the various emotional states they have been in and rebuild the sense of community while learning from each other.
