This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students love the two wobble cushions in my kindergarten classroom. However, with only two wobble seats available, it is often a challenge to choose who gets to use them. By having multiple wobble seats, more students can have flexible seating. Children in kindergarten are often wiggly and need to be able to move. The wobble cushions plus the stools will allow children to have the flexible seating they need to move and learn. In addition, it never fails that each year, there is a student with extra challenges. This year, I have a student with vision challenges, and having a portable lap desk will allow her and future students to learn and work from any place in the classroom.

Flexible seating is a window of learning opportunities that all my students would benefit from.

These choice seats not only let them move, but also stimulate their growing brains.

Teaching calendar, time, phonics, and reading are always a must in our classroom. The magnet wands will be used to work with kids on phonemic awareness skills. These wands will let the kids use manipulatives that will allow learning to sink in. The calendar and pocket charts will be used by the teacher and the students, daily. The timer will help my students learn about the importance of time and time management. Finally, the privacy folders will allow children to demonstrate mastery of skills learned, independently.
