My Project

It is never too early to introduce children to different career options, even at the elementary school level. By exposing them to different careers, we can broaden their horizons and help them understand the importance of education and hard work. Children who are exposed to different careers early on are more likely to have a better understanding of the world around them and the opportunities available to them in the future. My students will be competing in DECA’s Career Development Project.

My students will educate younger children about the skills needed for careers in marketing, finance, financial literacy, hospitality, management and entrepreneurship.

Learning about different careers also helps children see the connection between what they learn in school and how it applies to the real world. This can motivate them to work harder in these subjects and aspire to careers in these fields. Overall, exposing elementary school students to different careers can help them develop a sense of purpose and direction, and inspire them to achieve their full potential.

While teaching Career, Technical, Agriculture, Education classes, many rising freshmen are unaware of the career pathways offered in high school. This project will allow my students to educate elementary school students by developing a career unit creating worksheets, books, audio books, puppet shows, career fairs, and career fashion shows.

Puppets are requested for the puppet show and fashion shows we will record. We hope to capture the attention of elementary students through interactive puppet performances. Our goal is to encourage students to explore various career options and understand the skills required to those careers and select the right CTAE pathway that can help guide them into their future career choice.
