My Project
I love that my second graders are full of energy, curiosity, and emotion. They come to school each day ready to learn, but like many young children, they sometimes experience big feelings that can be hard to manage. I want to support their emotional growth just as much as their academic progress.
The items in this project—like the sensory bottle, poppers, weighted lap pad, expandable ball, and pillow—will help create a Calm Down Corner where students can self-regulate in a safe and comforting space.
These tools will give them the chance to pause, breathe, and reset, so they can return to learning with focus and confidence.
This space isn’t just about calming down—it’s about teaching kids lifelong skills like self-awareness, emotional regulation, and resilience. With your support, my students will have a space where they feel seen, supported, and empowered to be their best selves.
