See what Mrs. Ferguson is requestingHelp me give my students items like books, organizer bins, building toys, and crayons for a literacy rich art classroom. In this classroom we will combine literacy and art. Through our reading we will create different art projects.

By incorporating literacy and art, a world of creativity and imagination will be open to these the students. Art and literature will encourage the children to think creatively and use their imagination. By exposing them to different forms of artistic expression and storytelling, they learn to think outside the box and develop innovative ideas. It will also benefit them with language development. When I read the books aloud and discuss the stories, I am helping the children develop their language skills. They learn new vocabulary, sentence structures, and storytelling techniques, which can enhance their communication abilities.
Combining the two subjects will also help with emotional expression, confidence building, and cognitive development.
Art and literature provide the students with a platform to express their emotions and experiences. Whether through drawing pictures or writing stories, they learn to communicate their feelings in a healthy and constructive manner. When they successfully completing art projects and show understanding of stories their self-esteem and confidence gets a boost. They feel a sense of accomplishment, which motivates them to continue exploring their creative abilities. Art and literature stimulate various areas of the brain, contributing to overall cognitive development in young children. They learn to observe, analyze, and interpret information, which lays the foundation for future academic success.
These students are special because they love to learn and because of their young age their mind is open to new ideas. This is the critical learning period of early development for children. By exposing them to art and literacy better prepares them to enjoy learning to read. My goals for this project are to develop a classroom culture that love to read and be read to while creating art. The storage bins will be used for group activities and to keep the art and books organized.
