Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school serves students in grade k-8 from different backgrounds, provides rigorous academics, safe learning environment, and have caring teachers. Students come from low-income households and have not had much experience with the world outside their small community.
My first grade students are imaginative, fun-loving kids, and many don't have the ability to learn online due to limited access to technology and educational resources at home.
Many depend on limited worksheet packets and whatever books they have at home. Despite the hardships they are facing with the closure of our school, they are eager learners.
My Project
I miss working with my students! I have had to find innovative ways for my students to continue their educational learning at home. My students need writing journals at home to continue developing their writing skills: writing related sentences and stories and illustrating a picture to match.
This distance learning project consists of writing journals that will help my students become stronger writers, develop a love for writing, and increase their reading ability during the months ahead.
During this difficult time many students and families do not have access to many resources. This project will help my students increase their writing skills while learning from home.
