Mrs. Kane from Wilmington NC is requesting art supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students a pottery wheel so they can experience the thrill of transforming a lump of clay into a vessel created from the focus of their energy and creativity.

I teach Visual Art in a Title I elementary school in Southeastern North Carolina. Over 90% of our students receive free or reduced cost lunch and many of our students are exceptional learners. As a special areas teacher, I have the honor and pleasure of knowing and teaching all of the students in our school.
In the art room we incorporate Science, Math, ELA, Social Studies, Music and even Dance into our projects as we explore as many different mediums and techniques as possible and try to explore as many cultures as we can fit into the curriculum.
We have an amazing group of diverse learners who are excited to come to school every day and eager to learn! Our staff works hard to ensure all of our students are exposed to as many experiences and opportunities as possible. I am excited about the possibilities DonorsChoose.org grants present. Our students deserve the best! We are working hard to provide it for them and appreciate your support.
After learning about how clay is formed, my students will learn to focus their energy on one small lump of clay to first find balance and then transform it into something amazing; learning from failures but still continuing to keep at it until they succeed.
My students need to be able to find success and satisfaction after mastering a difficult skill and this requested Shimpo Aspire Pottery Wheel with Foot Pedal is an excellent tool to accomplish this.
This pottery wheel will help my students learn that even though they will face difficulties in their lives, they can find balance and something beautiful can come from it.
