I have a wonderful group of 5th graders who come from economically, disadvantaged households. They are kids who love to learn about the world around them. My students lack background knowledge so it is up to me to provide them with enrichment to fill those gaps.
Our staff works hard to make sure each student feels welcome every day.
We build connections with each child to make him/her feel that they have an adult that cares about him/her. We provide free breakfast and lunch to our students. Our school services English Language Learners, Special Education, Life Skills, and Gifted/Talented students. My goal is for all students to be successful academically and emotionally.
Our 5th-grade scientists need science equipment. Fifth grade is a great year to learn about science and we need some new materials for our science lab. We need beakers for when we investigate matter and heat. The mirrors, laser pointers, and lenses will be great resources when we study light energy. Our students will want to study science all day long. What will they want to be when they grow up? An engineer, rocket scientist, geologist, researcher...The possibilities are endless! We also are asking for storage containers to keep our new materials nice and organized. Our students will be so thankful for these new materials. Your generosity and support will make a huge difference in the lives of our students.
