Each year, with parental consent, my anatomy 2 students get to test their own blood to see what blood type they have. Students really enjoy doing the lab and are very interested in knowing their blood types. Those students who already know their blood type have the option of doing this lab or a blood simulation lab I setup for them.
Either way, my students need more test kits for next semester to be able to share in the same lab experiences as this current semester's students.
This lab experience helps students understand more about blood and how only certain kinds of blood types can be shared with other types. Students like to share their excitement for their lab experiences they experience in my class with their friends and family. I would love to keep the passion alive and provide next semester students with the same experiences.
