This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As we continue learning about energy in my classes, I would like to expose my students to more mechanical engineering projects. An engaging way to learn is when discussing amusement park rides.
For this project, students will be using the engineering design process to design their own rollercoaster ride while exploring potential and kinetic energy.
This will serve as a project-based learning opportunity for students to use 21st century skills by problem-solving, working as a team, and communicating their findings.
Additionally, my students will have opportunities to connect with experts in the field as they learn about different STEM careers. Lastly, students will have the opportunity to present their final projects to faculty and staff, as well as parents.
