Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach Kindergarten in a NY city public school. I have 20 very inquisitive students in my class who love to ask questions.
Many of my students do not seem to understand what a question is though. They cannot respond to "who", "What" or "Why" questions in an appropriate manner. They simply need lots of practice asking and answering questions.
I would love to have a Question of the Day chart in my classroom. This chart would be included in my Math Morning Routines Center so that the children can have daily practice asking and answering questions. I would also love to have a Math Activity Chart in my room. This chart also promotes questioning in small children's minds. It has an estimation jar, a pick a problem pocket and a make a pattern compartment. All these sections of the chart will spark my class's interest in questions and problem solving.
Your help and generosity will make a big difference in my classroom. It will ensure that my students are constantly reinforcing their ability to ask and answer questions and to spark their ability to solve problems verbally. You will make it possible for my children to enhance their early literacy skills on a daily basis.
