This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help me put kid friendly, non-fiction news into the hands of my second graders. It is so difficult to find non-fiction material that is interesting and engaging to students.
Scholastic News is both engaging and kid-friendly to students.
The articles are current and interesting. The students love the articles and colorful illustrations. They also enjoy the digital components that compliment the articles and offer additional resources.
Science Spin is also a fun exciting magazine to teach science topics to students. The students love to highlight and underline information and take it home to share with their families.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
