This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Remember when you were in 5th grade and you were able to explore something all on your own? There is pure excitement when it comes to trying to figure out new things individually. Our 5th grade Cubs are wonderful, enthusiastic and caring kids. They work hard on all their school work and work hard to be a good example to the younger kids.

Our 5th graders love hands-on activities and are enthusiastic learners.

We are always impressed by their curiosity and ingenuity. My students thrive by developing critical thinking skills and creativity.

My Project

Here at our elementary school, we pride ourselves in hands-on learning in Science while maintaining high test scores. During our matter unit, we try to fit in as many "kid" experiments as we can to make sure the students can grasp understanding about matter. Each of the supplies we are asking for will help the students with experiments.

Student learning is enhanced when students can do experiments on their own.

The scales will help the students be able to weigh different materials before a physical change or chemical reaction and see that matter doesn't just disappear. The cylinders will help them measure volume. The pressure cooker will be used to show physical changes in using styrofoam cups.

All these supplies will benefit all fifth-grade students here at our school.
