My students are hungry to learn. They are motivated and have a great attitude towards learning. My goal as a music educator is to allow my students to develop an appreciation for the musical arts at an early age. I try to expose them to as many different types and styles of music as possible.
These kids are the best a teacher can ask for; they are hardworking and love being in the band.
They want to be in the band and do well, but with family finances nowadays it is harder and harder for our students to rent instruments. We have always loaned out school-owned instruments, but this year we have even more students interested in the band and are short by several.
My Project
Music is important for so many reasons. One of the greatest gifts I think music gives my students is the chance to belong, the chance to feel accepted, and the chance to feel successful. It is wonderful to see students who work hard and achieve something for themselves.
I feel that this project will make a difference because it will show the students that people care about what they are interested in.
My band program is growing and we do not have enough instruments for all of the students to have their own horn. This situation causes the sharing of instruments and our supply is getting lower and lower.
By donating to this project you help the students be able to have a mouthpiece of their own. This makes it a much more sanitary experience and potentially allow more students to participate in music.
