Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My middle school's in San Leandro, California. We serve a very diverse group of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders; we celebrate the variety of home cultures that our students bring to our school. We also have a very positive school environment and offer many extra curricular activities, including sports teams and arts programs, to help students discover and explore their individual interests.
My students are fun, high energy, and super social.
They love being challenged, working in groups, and playing hard.
My Project
Students will be using the stopwatches to track and chart their run times. Students will use this personal data that they collect to chart their improvement over the school year and to help them set goals for themselves in the future.
Our students' ability to measure and track their progress will help them outside of school when they work toward maintaining a healthy level of physical fitness.
We will be tracking a variety of runs, like one lap, the mile, 100M dash, and other courses we make up around the campus. The variety of runs help keep our students enjoying running.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
