My Students
Students come into my classroom each day excited to learn. My Zoology students are excited to learn about the amazing variety of animal life that is out there.
My students are engaged learners in a small school.
The majority of my students come from high poverty. They are hard working students that want to do their best. The school has high standards and expectations for them. We provide them with the support they need and because of this they excel.
My Project
My students will use these materials in their Zoology class. They will dissect these animals in order that they might gain a better understanding of the complexity of life. I chose a variety of animals for them to dissect in order that they can also see first hand the differences and similarities between animals. The animals include sharks, perch, pigeons, and rats.
This project will allow my students to see for themselves the amazing variety of life.
Some of my students intend to go on to the medical field and veterinarian sciences and this will provide them a glimpse of what that might look like.
My students also need supplies for Princess (our classroom pet ball python), including a radiant heat panel and controller. My students are responsible for caring for Princess. Having the classroom pet has given my Zoology students a hands-on experience of caring for an animal. They have learned responsibility and some plan on purchasing a snake of their own after moving out.
