This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
By the end of the school year, I hope to have grown students that love to read.
"Today a reader, tomorrow a leader." ~Margaret Fuller
My students love to read!
Unfortunately, my students do not live in the best of economic conditions and cannot afford their own books. If given the chance to read or go to the school library, they jump at the chance. It doesn't matter what kind of book, they will read anything!
My Project
With the bookshelves that we have requested, my students will have more choices of books to read. We have the books, we just do not have any place to put them where my students can get them. Right now, they are being stored in a box. In order for books to gain their attention, the students need to be able to see them.
The best way to build a better reader is for the student to read.
With the funding of this project, students will be able to have access to many different genres of stories for them to read. Again, Margaret Fuller stated, "Today a reader, tomorrow a leader."
