My Students
Do you remember how much fun it used to be to dress up? Let's help my students learn about different role models through dress up playing.
My kindergarten students attend a kindergarten through fifth grade school.
They are very hard working children who enjoy singing, dancing, reading, and writing! They attend a school in Queens, New York. We have 25 children in our class this year. It is amazing to see how much they progress in kindergarten.
My Project
The role model costumes will enable the children to learn about community helpers. We will discuss each community helper, what their role it, where they work, and the importance of each one. We will also discuss how gender does not matter when they grow up to become one of these helpers. I will allow them to use these costumes during free play.
Please help bring "fun" and imagination play back into kindergarten.
They work so hard during the day and I would love for them to remember kindergarten as being fun! We forget that children learn through play, and it is very important for them to learn how to share and interact with each other.
