We are proud of our diverse community of learners. Like so many other schools around the country, our safe and caring school struggles with the increasing number of families living in poverty, the various needs of our ELL population and demands to provide unique learning opportunities for all students to express themselves and thrive in a fun and nurturing environment.
My Project
Students will be able to express their individuality by partaking in dramatic play. By providing students with a variety of career costumes, the concrete visuals will allow all students to be actively engaged in learning about a variety of careers. Children may write a list of facts about each career, compare how they're alike and different and tell why they might choose one career over another. By providing our students with visuals and a chance to role play, they'll gain self confidence. All K-2 students will be actively engaged in learning about careers in their community.

The career costumes will provide students with the opportunity to learn about actual jobs in their community. This engaging and child-centered costume closet provides a host of ways to implement Write to Learn strategies.
