My Students

The students in my primary classroom are curious driven learners. They love to be challenged through continued independent learning. In a Montessori setting, children are given an education that is based on self-directed activity, hands-on learning and collaborative play. My students are successful in their learning because every material in our classroom is set up to offer opportunities for imaginative exploration leading to confident, creative self-expression.

My students enjoy mathematics, language and art. Many of my students are driven by the mastery of works in different subjects. They feel such a sense of pride in the completion of a work!

My Project

The kindergartners in my class are ready to learn new and exciting skills. The students will learn the amazing skill of telling time allowing them more freedom to plan their day. Giving a child skills they need to have the freedom to plan their own routine will prepare them for the futures in school, careers and events. Students will also learn not only what money is but how to purchase items. We will first discuss and practice the amount of each coin and bill. Then we will dive into purchasing items at our own class store.

Our classroom will be immersed in new math and sensory materials that will not only teach new concepts but will explore new sensory experiences. Sometimes students in our classroom have so excitement for learning and being with others students that they can not hold it all in. The chair bands go around the legs of the chair so a student may bounce their feet on it. The sense of pride I feel for a student when they are able to focus and complete a work is surreal.
