My students need a subscription to Time For Kids to help them access informational text.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The almost 900 students at our school live in a low-income neighborhood with limited access to basic school supplies. We are a Title I school with almost all of the students qualifying for free breakfast and free lunch each day.
Although my students have limited access to resources, they are enthusiastic to come to school each day to learn many new standards.
I look forward to giving my students many of the much-needed supplies this year by asking the generous donors to provide these supplies.
My Project
Each year, I try to obtain a subscription for each of my fifth grade students to the Time For Kids magazine.
These Time For Kids magazines gives students real-world and timely informational text to read and respond to each week.
In some school districts, the parents are asked to contribute a donation in order for the students to each have a magazine, but given our low income, Title I status, this is not an option at our school.
Thank you for considering our project for the upcoming school year. We appreciate it and will use the resources you send each week.
