My Students

Have you ever been in a classroom full of sixth graders? It is fascinating! My classroom is no different. My children are like family to me. They love to chat, laugh, and learn. Even though they struggle financially outside of school, I try to provide them with the richness of love in the classroom.

While I try to teach my children all about life, they teach me what life is all about.

Each one of them is unique with their own story to tell. Most will break your heart. But, through it all, they remain with a smile on their face because I have created a welcoming environment for them to grow and learn.

I encourage each of my children to be themselves. If you were to come into my classroom you would see a lot of smiles and laughter. Maybe even some dancing too! I want them to forget about the outside world while they are in my class. The time they spend with me is for nurturing, bonding, and learning.

If nothing else, I want to make a difference in their lives. I want them to grow into beautiful human beings.

My Project

Help make my classroom as big as the EARTH! We are currently using balloons to represent different planets and moons. This is a great idea until you have a student who is allergic to latex! The model of the Solar System I am requesting will bring sizes, and placements of the planets and moons to life.

Houston, we have a problem!!

Students love the time we spend analyzing and examining the planets. Is there really life out there? This is a question we ask ourselves! Not being able to use balloons because of latex allergies has put a damper on many lessons. Also, having more than 50% of the class virtual learning still, the Solar System model will be a huge help to these lesson online. Differentiation at its best.
