My Students
Do you love to read? Some of my students can not comprehend what they have read or have no idea what some words are. Five Minute Vocabulary Practice Cards would help my students become fluent and gain the reading and language skills to comprehend what they have read.
My students are 5th-graders who live in a rural community in southern Utah.
They come from different social backgrounds, and have sometimes moved around a lot. My students love to learn by doing and prefer learning without worksheets. When they do hands-on activities, they seem to remember things better.
My Project
My students need High-Interest Intervention Reading Folders , a Research & Respond Comprehension Center, a Math Dice Tub, and 5-Minute Vocabulary Practice Cards. I believe that reading is the most important thing we as teachers can teach our students. Students have to be able to, not only understand what they read, but to read text smoothly. For this project I am requesting things that will help teach, reinforce and extend reading and language skills.
I will use these practice materials to read different stories to my students and to help them better comprehend what they are reading. By developing these reading skills, my students will be able to become lifetime readers.
By helping us my students will become fluent, and be able to comprehend what they read.
This is a skill that is needed throughout their lives. Reading is the most important skill, that I as a teacher, can teach my students. Reading is everywhere! Learning to read, WILL make a difference in my students' lives
