My Students
Remember struggling with reading? How about remembering what you read? What if you could have practiced everyday? Would you have gotten better? I believe that with these kits, that my students will be able to practice and become better readers. They will build confidence in their reading.
My students are fourth graders who live in a rural community in southern Utah.
They come from different social backgrounds, and have sometimes moved around a lot. My students love to learn by doing and prefer learning without worksheets. When they do hands-on activities, they seem to remember things better.
My Project
My students need these different reading kits to help them improve comprehension while working in a small group setting. My students will use these kits during small group instruction. It will be one of the centers that my student do to improve comprehension and fluency. They will have an opportunity to receive a prize or a party once they finish all the parts to the different kits. They will enjoy doing this more than the standard worksheets that have been a center.
I believe that these kits will help my students improve their comprehension and fluency skills.
It will help them build confidence in reading. It will help them learn the skills they need to pass the end of level tests. Not only that but the skills in life to read and recall what they have read.
