My Students
My kids are characters! Big hearts, big smiles, and excited to learn! They are bright and hardworking!
Many of my students are ELLs and come from lower-income families.
They come from diverse families, some are new to the country, and many deal with a lot of problems at a young age. They are so full of possibilities and hope. I want them to have a classroom where they feel safe, confident, and are empowered in their learning.
Every child deserves the best in their education.
My Project
Learning history in my 5th-grade classroom helps my students to understand the past and apply this understanding to their future.
History is for understanding how our society came to be.
It teaches my students about courage, wisdom, hardships, and success. It is about learning from mistakes and overcoming obstacles.
Having my students read the Reader's Theaters plays as a class makes learning history fun and involves everyone! Having the Children's Biography Series set gives them a choice to study and explore different lives that have impacted history. I hope, with access to these readings, that it will inspire my students to create a better existence for the world we live in today.
