My Project

Our 4th and 5th grade team collaborates on units of study. One of our units for the 2024-2025 school year is Government, where students learn about different types of government with a focus on the United States Government.

The What Is/Who Was book series is a favorite of our learners.

The books in this project will be used to further connect curricular areas within this unit. Students will complete a class novel study using these books, further building their background knowledge of the US Congress that they can then apply to other areas of their government unit. Using this book, students will complete language arts tasks such as summarizing, vocabulary development, and reading comprehension assessments. They will also complete a writing piece using the knowledge they learn about the US Congress.

Please note: This project provides each student their own copy of this novel, which will be used in subsequent years.
