My Students

Math and organization come together in a fun, interactive way with the implementation of a Math Notebook. As this is the first year integrating these notebooks into math, my students need basic supplies to help maintain their notebooks.

My students come from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds ranging from those whose families have lived in the area for more than three generations to those that are only here temporarily while their families are stationed in the state.

There is also a decent percentage of younger families who bought affordable homes in the area with the hopes that the newer developments will increase in value as more businesses and state offices are built on this side of the state. Our school is only a few years old and was built as a result of the growing community with an emphasis on technology. Although it is a new school, the demographics of the students still represent a wide range of economic needs.

My Project

I am requesting basic supplies such as glue sticks, scissors, and markers, to maintain and sustain the success of these interactive notebooks. I am also requesting some notebooks for students who need it. With these supplies, my students will be able to create a notebook that represents everything that we do in my math class from notes to homework to class activities each quarter. With these notebooks everything will be in one place and they will no longer have to worry about losing papers.

With implementation of these Math Interactive Notebooks, my students will be able to keep their work organized in way that they can be proud of.

With the funding of these basic supplies, I will be able to help even the playing field for those whose families cannot afford to buy their children notebooks, glue sticks, scissors, and coloring utensils. Each child deserves an opportunity to be successful regardless of their family's financial situation.
