My Students

My fabulous fourth grade students are full of questions and curiosity! They love to learn and find out things about the world around them. My students live in West Virginia and have little experience outside of our great state. They love to read and find out new information about what other people have experienced.

Through reading and researching my students have learned so much about what others have gone through and what has happened in other parts of the world!

My Project

Some of my students can't get their nose out of a book and others just haven't found the right book to develop a love of reading yet. As a teacher, I want all my students to love reading and learn while doing it. A popular series among my fourth graders is the I Survived ones. I LOVE these books because they are also based on real events, so while my students are immersed in a book, they're also learning and don't even realize it!

As a first year teacher my library is not as large as I would like it to be, but I'm hoping to expand my library with these great historical fiction and non-fiction texts!
