My Project
As a teacher, I am cultivating passions in my classroom - helping students discover their strengths and helping to remediate their weaknesses. While teaching content, I am also sharing skills and tools to help each one tackle and be successful at whatever comes their way!
In school, we all use the same curricula, but not every child is made the same!
By 5th grade, they are expected to sit in the classroom having learned certain foundational concepts from the lower grades - that's an increasingly huge cognitive load! I seek to make materials and references to support all my students. For example, in learning long division, some students benefit from the use of a multiplication chart. At the end of the day, some kids could use a checklist on their table as they pack up for home... While learning a core concept, children may need a text more suited for their independent reading abilities or in introducing new science or social studies content, they may need a graphic organizer or more visual representations.
Help support me in creating all these differentiated resources, and in sorting and preplanning for the unfolding year. The packing tape to secure mini-anchor charts to their tabletops; laminating sheets to create sturdy bookmarks and references; sheet protectors, binder pockets and pouches to organize resources by subject and units and academic groups!
