Help me give my students a unique opportunity to dissect a cow's eye after learning about how structures and functions of the human body can be related to that of another living thing.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are motivated and eager to learn. They are scientists, mathematicians, engineers, musicians, readers, authors, and artists. They have aspirations of furthering their education by attending college, and we fully encourage and support this endeavor.
In order for their true talents and gifts to shine, additional resources would be beneficial to ensure all students are learning.
We are a Title I school and a majority of the students have little to no access to hands-on tools and technology at home. Funding this project provides them with a unique opportunity in school.
My Project
Students will gain an understanding of the function of the human eye in relation to their dissection of a cow's eye. They will be working in pairs and investigating their wonderings, discovering similarities, differences, connections, and more!
In addition to this hands-on experience, students will showcase their understanding in a culminating project that requires them to utilize all aspects of STEAM.
They will extend their learning with related non-fiction readings, persuasive and informational writing projects, and visual arts creations. They will even use many aspects of technology to present their findings and learning.
