This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Approximately one-third of our middle school students are English Learners who struggle with grade-level content due to a language barrier. Nine different primary or home languages are represented by our students.
The use of electronic devices will help students research various learning content and most especially, be able to translate the information in a way that is meaningful to them.
By translating information as it is being taught, English Learners will be able to comprehend lessons and have a greater rate of success when completing assignments.
Having command of their own learning will also give English Learners confidence in their social and emotional well-being as they acquire a new language.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
