My Students

Our school is located in a lower socioeconomic part of town where parents struggle to provide for their children. Children come ready to learn, but often times without the supplies and/or background knowledge from life experiences as compared to peers from another part of the city.

Recent budget cuts and the struggling state economy has brought new challenges for both families and teachers in our district - especially when it comes to the topic of education and providing supplies for the classroom.

Often times students are missing basic supplies such as paper and pencils. The teachers at our school are dedicated to student learning and wish to provide the most fulfilling, well-rounded education possible.

My Project

My students need these three universal rotors to power the three color wheels we receive in our previous project to investigate what colors make up white light. The website we bought the color wheels from did not state that the motor was NOT included. This activity is designed for students to use inquiry to explore white light. They will be working as individuals and as teams to predict outcomes and explore actual outcomes. Students will explore colors of light. Students will describe visible light as part of the electromagnetic spectrum.
