Math to most kids seems extremely boring. My goal is to make it come to life for the kids. I am in the process of making math come to life through technology that the kids can hold in their hands. I am asking for Rangers for the calculators that I have in my rooms. The Ranger is a device that you can hook up to the calculator and it actually detects and graphs movement. This is a great way for kids to see graphs and lines come to life. I will be able to measure hang time on the basketball court for the boys, the quickness of walking rates for the girls, and lots more. When a child can do an action, see the result, and learn something--what they learn is more likely to be something they can really remember! I want to make math fun and incorporate real life scenarios in my classroom. The rangers are my first step.
