This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a kindergarten teacher in a high poverty city in Massachusetts. My students come to kindergarten with a willingness to learn, however, they have very little background knowledge, which is needed to learn.
Young students need hands-on learning experiences for projects that will create lasting memories. With a donation of an incubator and egg turner, my students will be able to hatch chicks before their very eyes.
My students need an incubator with an egg turner so that they can hatch chickens within our classroom. They will have the opportunity to candle the eggs (look inside using a light) in order to track the chick's growth.
With your generous donation of an incubator and egg turner, my students will be able to hatch baby chicks of their very own. The will be able to watch the phenomenon of the growth cycle of a chicken.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
