This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Since the opening of the school in 2006, we have grown as a community all with the goal of supporting these young people to live to their fullest potential, including a post-secondary plan.
Our students are the pride and joy of the community.
Faced with adversity these students are resilient and move forward to not only improve their lives but those around them too. They continue to makes us proud by continuing their education, serving our country, and giving back.
My Project
I have used these magazines with students for over 15 years. They are digitally accessible which as one can imagine is currently a necessity. They are informational, engaging, thought provoking, and support the state standards. They are visually appealing with plenty of charts, info graphs, political cartoons, photographs, and videos as well which also support those visual learners and English language learners which I have plenty in my classes. Students will be able to access a wealth of digital reliable information related to the content we will be learning. These magazines have a wealth of digital resources for both teachers and students and are an invaluable resource.
