Whakanda Things Can We Print!

My students need a printer and ink to display their STEM work and achievements in a colorful manner that they could be proud of.

My Students

My second-grade scholars come from different socioeconomic backgrounds. They range between the ages of 7 and 8 years old and receive their education in an urban environment with a population of 43.4% Black, Non-Hispanic, 26.5% Hispanic, 24.4% White, Non-Hispanic, and 4.6% Multiracial. My school participates in the Federal Free School Lunch program where 100% of our scholars receive a nutritional meal every day. They come to school despite what they are going through and work hard to accomplish set goals.

We are also one of few STEM schools in the school district that provides all of our scholars with an equal opportunity for innovation, engineering and design principles, and stewardship within the context of cross-curricular, authentic problem-based learning units.

My Project

My students have arrived and I'm so excited! We need this HP Color Printer and ink because, unfortunately, we are limited in how my students show off all the new skills they are learning conducting various STEM projects. We appreciate the office allowing us to print as much as we need to but some things need to be captured in color. Many of my students have no access to the internet at home, so having a printer in the classroom would allow them to print their work immediately and not only display it in the halls at school but take it home to show everyone what they know! It will help in the class by supplying use with more colorful STEM cards for our STEM challenges. The ink cartridges will ensure that we have ink for the year and that we don't run out too quickly while completing important masterpieces. Our class, as well as our school community, take much pride in our work, making the students more engaged in learning and more successful in retaining the knowledge for the future. They'll be able to explain their scientific research, share pictures of their history projects, practice and recite the poetry they are writing, brag about their awesome reading test grades, and SO much more!
