My third graders are a very active bunch this year! They LOVE brain breaks, especially when they get to act silly! One of their favorites is to hop around the room for 1 minute acting like a frog. I teach in a rural community with a wide variety of students. I have students that live on farms, students that are military, and students that live in the city. They are a group that has diverse experiences and I love watching them learn from one another!
They are a kind group and really treat one another like family.
I teach all of the Language Arts to our third graders. They enjoy reading and listening to each other read. We do a lot of partner/team work because I think it's important to educate them on collaboration. They love writing and have such creative ideas! It's neat to see their stories come to life on paper!
Our school was built in the 1950's. It's a great school but when it was built there were only 4 outlets installed in my room! Fast forward 60 years and we have a computer charging problem! We were blessed with a grant a few years ago that allowed our district to purchase laptop computers for each student Kindergarten-12th Grade, which is fantastic! However, we were not given a cabinet to charge the computers.
Right now I currently have 19 computers charging on 2 outlets.
It's a cord nightmare! And a safety hazard!
My students would greatly benefit from a charging station because they would be able to safely charge their computers each night and be ready to use them the next day! They use their computers daily to type their writing, to listen to stories, to apply math concepts, to view science videos to enhance understanding, to practice spelling, to quiz reading comprehension, to code, and much more. If we didn't have to worry about someone missing out because their computer wasn't charged that would be such a blessing.
