Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am so lucky to have a diverse group of first graders and though some have challenges in life, they come to class excited to learn and grow. They are adventurous, spirited, and are always putting a smile on their teacher’s face. All of my students are creative, driven, and talented in their own unique ways. My students are constantly working to help create a kind and safe environment for learning as they truly become a community of learners together.
My Project
For this upcoming school year, students will have independent reading time where they will be able to explore their interests and hobbies while falling in love with reading. In order to accomplish this, students will have their own book box that they will use to store the five books they want to read! Students will also learn how to care for books and learn how to pick out a book that interests them. And who doesn’t love a comfortable place to read?! The seats will be used at the sitting table already located in the library so the students can really dive into reading.
