Wet-on-Wet Painting in Second Grade!

My students need supplies for wet-on-wet watercolor painting.

My Students

Do you remember the calming effects of painting in elementary school? You can help us develop as artists and students by donating high-quality watercolor painting materials.

My second-grade students come from a low-income community in urban New York State.

They are enthusiastic about learning, and our community school encourages artistic, project-based learning opportunities. Most of the students at my school receive free or reduced lunch. My students are energetic and talented. They love painting and drawing, especially with high-quality art materials, but they are rarely given an opportunity to do so.

My Project

This is where you come in! Your generous support can help my students explore wet-on-wet watercolor techniques. Stockmar paints are made from high-quality pigments and are diluted with water. They are intended for use with wet watercolor paper, allowing students to blend colors with ease. As a former Waldorf student myself, I am getting certified in Waldorf education in order to bring a more holistic method of education to my students—educating their artistic, academic, physical, and emotional selves. With your donation of materials for wet-on-wet painting, you are helping my students experience a more well-rounded education by allowing them to express their understanding of a topic through artistic means.

As a teacher in a low-income school, I believe that we need to ensure that ALL students receive the best quality education.

When we show students that they deserve the best, they live up to our high expectations of them. Your donation will make a difference in these students’ lives by putting high quality watercolor paints in their hands. They will create masterpieces in our weekly painting sessions and the confidence this inspires will help them emotionally and academically. You have the power.
