My students need a trip to Wet n Wild to celebrate the end of the year, and demonstrate their learning. The buses are expensive, and we would like help paying for them.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My class is energetic and full of potential. Many of my students move around a lot, and I would like to help them feel that our classroom is a safe environment. My class has a high level of ELL students, and many of them come from difficult situations.
My students have positive attitudes, and they love learning.
They work hard and are kind to one another. Even though many of them struggle with understanding English, they have a desire to better their lives through education. They come to school with an excitement to learn that is inspiring. I would like to help them worry less about the supplies they need, and more about learning.
My Project
My students come from a disadvantaged side of town. For the end of the year celebration, we have chosen to visit Wet n Wild. The students have worked hard this year, and deserve this experience.
During the last few weeks of school, we study the science and math behind waterslides.
The students demonstrate their learning by building their own waterslides.
We have also studied adaptations in science, and Nevada history in social studies. By going to Wet n Wild, we learn how humans adapt to the heat of the desert. We look forward to this trip all year, and will cherish the memories we make!
