WES Student Ambassadors

Help me give my students microphones, vests, and the tools needed to run a successful student ambassador program.

My Project

Our school's student ambassadors represent WES to the community. One thing that we want to practice and improve is our students' communication skills.

Following COVID, communication has been difficult.

Students were asked to communicate in unfamiliar ways with distance learning and in-person, face-to-face communication suffered. Through student ambassadors, students will be able to build their courage and confidence to speak face-to-face with not only to their peers but with adults as well. Student ambassadors represent the school to the outside community and also play an important role in sharing all the most important parts of WES (SEL - Choose Love, Core Values, Clubs/Activities, etc.) with others .

To help achieve their purpose, some materials are needed. Portable speakers will help to amplify ambassador voices so their reach will not be limited to just small groups. Microphones can also help to build confidence in public speaking. Specialized vests will help to identify those students chosen as an ambassador to others on campus as they accomplish their work. They can also instill pride in the ambassadors for being chosen for this task. The other organizational items (shelf, bins and power cord) will help to teach responsibility for ambassador training materials (binders, vests, and speakers) as well as ensuring materials are safe and functional for future use.
