I am fortunate to have a wonderful group of students that come into my class every day with an eagerness to learn. These students set aside all hardships they face at home and take advantage of all of the opportunities that an education can provide.
“The science of today is the technology of tomorrow.”- Edward Teller.
This quote is applicable to my classroom and I want my students to have all the resources that they need at their fingertips. I am hopeful this project will give my students a chance to apply science in various aspects of their life to help them reach their full potential.
My Project
My students lack experience with technology in their daily lives. By adding a technology center into our classroom they will be able to use a variety of resources that are only offered through the use of technology. Having the Chromebooks in our classroom on a daily basis will assist the students in becoming proficient in the use of technology, which is an ever-growing skill that they will use in all areas of their lives. In addition to Chromebooks, I am asking donations to fund activity tubs for engaging science centers.
The goal is to encourage hands-on inquiry-based learning to promote enthusiastic learners.
By doing centers to encourage inquiry-based learning, students will learn the value of higher level thinking. Additionally, this project will help my students prepare for the computer-based state tests. This will instill an everlasting love for science.
