My Students

I teach a diverse student population who live in a wonderful, small community. Our district has been through some very difficult financial times in recent years. We have also lost many staff members due to budget cuts as well as low enrollment. However, the staff that remains has stayed positive and focused and our students are thriving.

My students come to school every morning eager and enthusiastic to learn, especially this year as I have incorporated flexible, fun seating options that help with focus such as yoga balls and wobble stools.

They are loving the new seating and getting to choose their spot and type of seat each day has helped immensely with my classroom management as they do not want to miss out on this privilege.

My Project

I have worked to improve and update my classroom into a 21st century learning environment. My students are loving the flexible and fun seating options. I create fun and engaging lessons to motivate all students to learn.

Adding a Qball throwable wireless microphone to my lessons would further increase student engagement and participation.

As is true with any classroom, there are students who participate often and there are students who need more motivation to raise their hand, to take a risk, and to try to answer a question or speak in front of the class. My students would absolutely love to throw, catch, and speak into this amazing and fun invention. Who wouldn't want to participate?
