Help me give my students a high-quality capture card and webcams so they can learn about broadcasting, and stream their competitions to friends, family, and the school.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
These wonderful students work hard, competing nationally, placing at the top of their Esports every season, but no one can watch them do it! Esports are spectator sports, streamed directly to the phones and computers of fans, friends, and family across the globe. Unfortunately, we don't have the equipment right now to make that happen.
You can shine a light on these students' hard work by providing broadcast hardware.
A capture card will allow us to stream matches from our Nintendo and Playstation consoles. Before now, fans, friends and families haven't been able to see all the hard work they're doing!
Webcams will allow viewers to experience the matches with the players: tragic defeats and righteous victories. Parents will be able to see their children's faces as they practice their craft.
Esports is a rapidly growing STEM activity. Student interest in Esports is massive, and providing them technology like this will give them marketable skills for their futures. Esports is also highly equitable, avoiding the gender-divide and physical discrimination that many face in traditional sports. ECA Esports students are diverse, with women and diverse cultures assuming leadership roles. Providing Esports equipment is an investment that will continue to be used for 5-10 years for dozens of students, exceeding the value of traditional sports equipment.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thanks for choosing to support ECA Esports.
