This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

For children, play is an amazing opportunity to practice and refine communication skills. They request items, make comments, and ask and answer questions. More importantly, they work on important social communication skills such as sharing, working cooperatively, and interacting with peers. And nothing motivates my students during free play time quite like trains.

My students are train obsessed and are in need of additional tracks and train accessories.

Right now, they only have the trains I played with as a child and the tracks are showing some wear and tear. New tracks will not only replace some of the damaged old ones but will also allow them more creativity to create new and exciting routes. More train cars and accessories will encourage different play scenarios which in turn will encourage new communication opportunities.

Please help my amazing and train-obsessed students increase their communication and play skills with these new supplies!
